The stone floor underneath your feet shakes. Hard. The mortar is crumbling to pieces; the stones falling inches and inches further away from each other. Already the tops of the walls collapse - the remainder of them no doubt soon to follow suit as a pile of rubble on the floor. Let it fall, you think. Good riddance.
The truth is, your soul aches to escape this place. To explore, to drink in the world. To make it yours, to conquer it. You want to leave your mark on every tree and stone and soul that you possibly can. Now is the time for a new life. No more “let down your hair”. No more. You cut off that burdensome braid just this morning as only a seeding of an idea took hold in your mind, and now your tower - your prison - is crumbling around you.
Unfortunately, this was your “destiny”. You hear the wicked words floating through the air now: “..and on her 16th birthday she will prick her finger on a spindle and be doomed to a death worse than death itself. She will be a prisoner to coldness and grit, dullness and nothingness, day in and day out, for all of her existence. She will be doomed to hide her light, to hide herself. Her soul will ache with anticipation of something more, but more will never come. Unless…..”
Unless you took the reins and made up your mind to shun the so-called “destiny” someone else shoved onto your shoulders.
Well, today was the day, and the only way you were going to get through it was to embrace the mess of your world crashing around you. You breathe in the dust. Dig your toes into the broken stones and get your feet dirty. And when the tower falls away completely, you find yourself running on new terrain – grass and mud. The branches that reach out to congratulate leave sticks in your hair. A bird calls out to you, “this way!”. And another pulls you in the opposite direction. Then the entire forest breaks out in a chorus, each coaxing you to a new, contradictory path.
You embrace it all. You have the only compass you need, anyway. Nothing anyone else says matters. All you have to do to know where to go is to tap into your infinite emotions. Know that you are the queen of them, and observe them. But most importantly, you feel them. You tap into that deep intuition and knowing and there’s no question about which way to go.
Which is precisely why you don’t listen to those birds, or to anyone else for that matter. Sure, they all mean well. They think they know how to help you. But, the paths they think are “such a great idea!” could quickly cause a surge of panic or dread to shoot through your body. Your emotions are there to act as the arrow on your compass.
You had been so intent on listening to your emotions, that you scarcely notice having arrived to this new place – a beautiful meadow with a quaint cottage that you knew was now meant for you. This place is your new reality. Your new universe. Your new world. You will rule it like the queen that you are. You’ll swiftly cut out anything that threatens to disrupt your new bliss. You will live as you intend to, fully speaking your truth. Owning your truth!
This is just the beginning, heroess. Whatever makes itself reality this month is only the tip of things to come. This is merely a seed sprouting. Keep those eyes focused forward on all you wish to grow in your life. Make sure to practice gratitude, and to take inventory of all of the things that you have in your life before you let your heart break over things that were lost in the past (those things that you know were insignificant, those things that weren’t meant for you anyway).
